The civil society comes together to support the city´s candidature to host the EMA
Barcelona wants to be the new home for the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
More than 300 people participated yesterday in an event coordinated by Barcelona Global, in the paraninfo of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat de Barcelona to support the initiative of the Government, the Generalitat and the City Council.
The Minister Dolors Montserrat, the Councillior Antoni Comín and the Deputy Mayor Jaume Collboni, attended the meeting, in which actor Josep María Pou has read the manifesto signed by more than 200 entities throughout Spain.

In the event, Gonzalo Rodés, Joan Massagué, Buenaventura Clotet, Jordi Ramentol, Margaret Arboix and María Jaureguízar also participated at a symposium on the EMA and Barcelona. All have agreed that the city has the scientific capacity and infrastructures necessary to attract and maintain the agency and its talent.
